The three Brown siblings, William John b. 1825 or 1826, Henry b. May 16, 1828, and Charlotte b. May 18, 1830, emigrated from Moira, County Down, Ireland to Montreal by sailing ship about 1845 to 1847. All three of them moved to Wyoming in Plympton County, Ontario. Charlotte married Charters Montgomery. Henry naver married. William John married Jane Burdett, she was ten years younger. They had eleven children, and then the family moved to Dufferin Municipality, Manitoba about 1877 as homesteaders. Today the community is known as Roland.
