John Johnston b. abt 1811 and Janet McLaren lived in Drummond Twp., Lanark County in 1851 and by 1861 moved to Renfrew County.
I am trying to find information on John Johnston b. abt 1836 in Scotland, son of John Johnston b. abt 1811 and Janet McLaren. John Johnston married Lucy Gibson who was b.btw. 1838 - 1843 in Ontario, daughter of John Gibson and Julia Ann Hornsby Orange b. abt 1803 d. Feb. 19, 1896 in Renfrew.
John and Lucy Johnston moved to North Dakota with 4 children in 1879-1880. They had 4 other children that died of diphtheria prior to this move. The 4 children that survived were John "Jack" Alexander b. 1870, Janet b. 1873, Julia Orange b. 1874 and Daniel b. 1876.
