I have been looking for news of Howard Brown (born 1871) and his second wife Florence Louisa Lockhart Morris (born 1880) for a long time. I am researching the inter-related Lockhart, Morris, Cooke and Crampton families.
Florence was the second wife of William Edward Morris (1861-1923). She re-married to Howard Brown in 1925. I have found no reference to their deaths or burials anywhere. She is not referred to in the obit of her daughter (1980). A search of Anglican records a few years ago confirmed that Florence is not buried with her first husband, the father of her children, in Innisville (unless it was after 1975).
You can search deaths on Ancestry.com to 1938. You can search 1939 and 1940 deaths on microfilm via inter library loan from the Archives of Ontario.http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/en/microfilm/v_dintro.aspx
If not found, you could always request a search for their dates of death from 1942 from the Office of the Registrar General…https://www.orgforms.gov.on.ca/eForms/eForms_faq/start.do?la...
A search verifies that an event has taken place and has been registered with the province of Ontario. There is a $15.00 fee for each period of up to 5 years you request to have searched.
Given Howard’s death was not registered prior to 1939 (Ancestry.com), a 10 year search could be done for $30. https://www.orgforms.gov.on.ca/eForms/start.do
Attached is the obit of Mrs. Howard Brown = Annie Hitsman, published on the front page of the Carleton Place Herald, Wednesday, March 5, 1924.
