Re: Kennedy-Lard/Laird
Hi Nora,
I know nothing of Peter's family or life in the U.S. before he came to Bath. I have not yet met or had contact with any other Laird researcher who knows anything. At the moment Peter is our brick wall. I don't know if Maria ever existed. Some researcher has said she was taken in by a cousin and took the cousin's last name. But no source for this has ever been presented. There was another son of Peter and Eve who no other researcher has ever mentioned. His name was Peter Davy Lard. He and John McKay were baptized together after there father's drowning. They were actually born about four months ater his death. I believe they may have been twins but I have no documented proof. Peter Davy Lard died in Bath in 1637.
