I careleessly posted this answer as a new postig. Sorry. WE are talking about the same Roderick. He attended medical school in Scotland He returned to Canada in 1845, arriving in Bath in 1850. All I have been able to find out about Peter Lard is from the newspaper article on his death which states he was an American citizen. Note the spelling of his last name. I have proof that this German spelling is correct. Most researchers on this family have mistakenly assumed they are of Scottish origin.
