Classification: Query
There is quite a bit of information online about Allen and his family. In the 1881 census he (age 64) and Celena (age 34) are listed with 7 of their children: John (14), Jacob (11), Selena (14), Mary (7), Ida (5), Thomas (4), and Charles <1. They are living in the Muskoka and Parry Sound District about a two hour drive north of Toronto. If you have not already done so, you can view this information on familysearch.org. Here is the link to the search page: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?P...
To find the page quickly type first name “Celene” and last name “Kennedy”. Then scroll down to the Canadian Census area and click on number 15.

Allen may have been the lockmaster in Magnetawan. Check out these links:

http://www.magnetawan.com/historymagriver.htm

One or more of Allen’s sons became steam boat captains and you will find their names mentioned in the above links. Charles ran a general store.

By the 1901 census Allen had died (1895, predeceased by son John and son (?) Gideon) and his widow Celena is living in the same area (Chapman Twp, village of Magnetawan) with sons Jacob (31) and Charles (20). Allen’s tombstone and several other Kennedy tombstones (some unrelated) in Magnetawan and Burks Falls can be viewed at:

By the 1911 census the children are all living in their own households. Thomas and wife Martha are living in nearby Burks Falls with their 5 children. Jacob, wife Ethel May (nee Corry) and their 2 children also live in Burks Falls. Charles, wife Mary (nee Smith), and their 3 children live in Magnetawan. The 1901 and 1911 censuses can be viewed at:

1911

Type “Kennedy” in the surname search box.

In my quick research I came across the name of Captain William Morris Kennedy. He may have been a son of Allen but does not appear in Allen’s household in the 1881 census. I found this marriage registration for him on http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~maryc/thisisit.htm

7357-81 - William Morris Kennedy, 23, Bosanquet? Twp, Croft Twp, s/o Allen & Florence Jane Kennedy, married Cecelia Susan HUNTER, 20, Pickering Twp, Armour Twp, d/o Hugh & Mary Ann HUNTER, witn: Hugh & Mary Ann HUNTER, blank, 9 Mar 1881, Armour Twp

You will notice that his parents are given as Allen and Florence Jane Kennedy. Could it be that Florence was your Allen’s first wife and Celena was his second? There was a difference of 30 years in the ages of Allen and Celena so this would be a reasonable conclusion but would need to be proved.

Here are some other Kennedy marriage registrations:

8619-96 - Thomas Kennedy, 19, works on steam boat, Ontario, Burks Falls, s/o Adam & Salina, married Martha Ann CHAMBERS, 19, Ontario, Burks Falls, d/o Obadiah & Catherine, witn: Jacob Kennedy & Sarah McLAUGHLIN, both of Burks Falls, 3 Oct 1896 at Burks Falls

16739-25 Stanley Schmalz WURM, 23, farmer, Port Carmen, same, s/o Julius WURM (b. Waterloo) & Charity Ann MORRIS, married Pearl Irene Kennedy, 19, Magnetawan, Port Carmen, d/o Charles Kennedy (b. Magnetawan) & Mary Ann Smith, witn: Florence Eleanor Kennedy of Magnetawan & Oliver Angus WURM of Port Carmen on March 3, 1925 at Magnetawan

Unfortunately I was not able to find any information on your Thomas Aubrey other than the obituary for Fanny which I see from an old posting that you already have. You posted this query on the Lincoln County board. Do you have reason to believe that Thomas/Robert lived at one time in the St. Catharines area?

You may already have all of the above info so hopefully someone with an Ancestry.com subscription will respond with new information.
