Hi, we have a William Hamilton Merritt ( father of Perrin Merrit) married to Catherine (?) He wrote a book called ('Memoirs of the Welland Canal) and father of Jedediah P. Merritt, of 12 mile creek. This was near Welland, or/ and St Catharines Ontario. Jedediah was baptized June 3, 1821. In Feb (15) 1825, James Hamilton was born to William and Mary, he had been born July 23,1823. History gets confusing, with so many 'family' names, first or last.
I am looking for data on a Perrin and Mary Jane (Secord) from the same area. If you have any other info, please get back to me. Thanks.
