Iam a decendent of this Smith line.My grandfather was Roy Vernon Smith,buried in Sarnia Ont.His father,William Henry Smith died 1960also buried in Sarnia.His parents were John Henry Smith and Catherine Konkle,married in the late 1800's.
john Henry died in 1932 and is buried in Tobermory.He was a light keeper and his nickname was Indian Bill.What I would realy like to know is why did they leave the beamsvillearea??Also can anyone trace this Smith line back any further.It was my understanding that the Smiths were German in origin and the name was once either a Smit or Schmidt anyone??
