Drake, William
William Drake and his wife Margaret Dowdle with two children came to the Niagara Region circa 1793. It is said (unproven) that thier third child, Phineas Drake, was born in Niagara, Ontario but i have no evidence to prove that or if it was at Fort Niagara in Ontario County, New York State or in the settlement in what is now called Niagara-on-the-Lake, Province of Ontario, Canada. I would appreciate help in finding convincing "proofs" of any of these statements. I have evidence he worked with Col. Talbot in setting up Talbotville (now St. Thomas, Ontario) starting in about 1808. Additional evidence of this move and work with Col. Talbot would be appreciated. I have close access to the National Archives of Canada if anyone can specify exactly what documentations needs to ne searched.
