My adoptive parents do not live in Alberta. They have passed away. They were John and Joan Kain of Birsay, Saskatchewan.
Anyway, brief history....my birth Mom was a Schapansky and was the youngest of 11 children. Her parents were born in Saskatchewan(Father of Dutch descent and Mother of German descent). I believe the family were farmers living near Saskatoon(where I was born). My birth mother, if still alive, would be 77 years old, married with 4 adult children~~two daughters and two sons. My birth Mother's health, as of 2000, is bad. She has Emphysema and congestive heart failure and always must use oxygen.
I really appreciate your response and will consider anything you can share with gratitude. I was raised as an only child. My adopted Mother suffered through the last 10 years of her life as she has Alzheimer's. I cared for her for as long as I could but lost her in so many ways. Time marches on so quickly and I really just want to know my background before it's too late. Again, thank you so much.
