Re: POISSON
SO WHAT YEAR OR DEWCADE WAS ROLAND AND HIS SIBLINGS BORN IN?
RESEARCHING THE NAME POISSON IS LIKE RESEARCHING THE NAME SMITH OR BROWN. THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF THEM IN QUEBEC AND ONTARIO OVER THE LAST 200 YEARS.
IF YOUR DAD IS ALIVE DOES HE KNOW WHERE ROLAND DIED? WHAT HIS WIFE'S NAME WAS?
WE CAN WORK BACKWARDS INTO HISTORY BUT ONLY IOF YOU GIVE US A STARTING POINT?
Your born 1971 so I assume your Dad was born circa mid 1940's/1950's and his Dad Roland circa 1920/1930's. You best bet is get a copy of Roland's death certificate and see if his parents are listed or if you know his parents names post them to us. They are the key to getting into the internet records that go back into the past.
The last Canada census posted is 1911. Ifr roland and his siblings are born afte 1911 we need to go at least one geneartion before him to start.
This is the only Roland poisson I find on the 1911 census of Canada. If it is your Roland fine we can work backwards. if not we need some dates and naqmes of roland's parents.
All 1911 Census of Canada results for Roland POISSON
