Classification: Query
Surnames: Foley, Bowler, Griffin, Carey, Shayhan
The FOLEY family was said to have immigrated from Kerry, Ireland abt. 1852/3. The family history says they came through St. Mary's, Ontario. It was a family group of 15 or so.

John FOLEY & Catherine GRIFFIN

Children:

Bridget (nee FOLEY) CAREY her husband John CAREY with at least 2 of their children
John FOLEY
Katherine (nee SHAYHAN) FOLEY widow of their son James with her 3 children
Honora FOLEY
Patrick FOLEY
Maurice FOLEY
Daniel FOLEY
Timothy FOLEY

In 1855 Honora FOLEY marries Michael BOWLER in Montreal and that is the first documentation of the family in North America. The father of the bride is at the wedding.

Honora BOWLER states that her daughter Johanna BOWLER was born 15 Jun 1856 in St. Mary's, ON when she applies for her late husband's Civil War Pension. The US Census has Canada as the place of birth for her second daughter Bridget BOWLER b. 25 Sep 1858.

John FOLEY, Sr. dies in Canada before the family turns up in the 1860 Census in the US.

Bridget FOLEY & her husband John CAREY have at least 2 children listed as born in Canada on the US Census.

James CAREY b. 1856; Maurice CAREY b. 13 Apr 1859

Where could I find birth and death records for these individuals? Did passengers actually disenbark in St. Mary's?

Thanks!
