Am looking for help in searching for Reuben S. Tink and his new wife, Jennie (Couch) Tink as a married couple on the 1911 Canadian census and who both may have lived in the Perth County area after being married in Huron County, Ontario.

Head: Reuben S. Tink, b. 1861, Flamboro, Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada

Wife: Elizabeth (Eliza) Jane (Jennie) Couch, b. November 22, 1869, Exeter, Usborne Township, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada

Children: unknown

Marriage: February 16, 1904, Huron County, at Exeter, Reuben was widower 43 years of age and Jennie was widower 35 years of age at time of marriage

Jennie Couch appears on the 1901 Hibbert Township, Perth County, Ontario, Canadian census living with her parents Joseph & Hannah Couch; her first name Jennie is spelled incorrectly as Jimie (daughter). She then marries Reuben S. Tink in 1904 in Huron County; a neighboring community.

Jennie had a previous marriage January 26, 1887 to James Bell, b. 1845 who also had a previous marriage in November 18, 1864, Perth County Ontario to Margaret Hamilton, b. 1844

Reuben S. Tink (other possible spelling Tinck) had a previous marriage May 27, 1895 to Jessie McKenzie, in Essex County, but had also married the same Jessie McKenzie back in October 12, 1887 in Essex County and also had a previous marriage before that to Hannah Brown August 5, 1879 in Wentworth County. Reuben and Hannah (Brown) Tink had one known child together, Eliza Whilemena Tinck, b. October 3, 1879 Wentworth County

Reuben S. Tink is said to have worked on the railway in Wentworth County, for a railway company based out of Galveston, Indiana, USA.

Looking to make new family connections with living members of the Couch family from Hamlet of Cromarty, Hibbert Township, West Perth County, Ontario, Canada.

Joseph and Hannah (Airth) Couch lived on lot 23, concession 13, in Hibbert Township between 1860-1914 with children names Joseph (Henry, Harry), Samuel, Jennie, Elizabeth Eliza Jane, David, James, Hanna Anna, Jimie, John, William, Emma B., and Mary Lavina

Some of the children mentioned here above went on to marry other family names from the Perth and Huron County area, such as Dodman, Goodall, Tink, Bell, Aikens and Hall.

Joseph and Hannah (Airth) Couch lived on the James and Margaret Airth farm in Usborne Township prior to moving to their farm in Hibbert in 1860. The Airth family had settled on their farm in 1847; concession and lot, NTR, 5, lot size 95, Usborne Township with children names Hannah, James, Eliza, Jane and John.

Joseph Couch is buried in McTaggart Cemetery, Lot 30, Concession 6, NE Boundary, Usborne Township, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada. Grey, Charcoal, Granite head stone.

While researching a branch of my Miller family that moved from Hibbert Township to Windom, Cottonwood County, Minnesota in the late 1860s, I came across a cousin of theirs who was also from Hibbert.

Born in Perth 1887 and Belle born in Perth 1885's Birth record. Also Can't find William's Father John Born 1820-1823 Marriage to Elizabeth? B. 1821 both in Ireland. I have aquired a book called "The Hills Of Home" from my Mother about North Easthope Township. 1827-1997. It holds historical information about families that lived on the land and local buildings in North Easthope. It does contain photographs of people that allowed their ancestor's pictures to be used for the book - some could be yours! It also in some articles gives pictures of the specific lot or houses and buildings on the land. Margaret BURCHILL was born in Stratford in 1852. She was one of at least five children. The two oldest children, believed to be Jason and Anne, and their parents emigrated from Cork, Ireland. Two other sisters of Margaret's were believed to be Mary and Elizabeth, also born in the 1850s in Canada.

Wonder if anyone knows anything about Ann Patrick, my husband's great great aunt. Ann was born 1841 in New Dublin, Leeds & Grenville (near Brockville) and was on 1851 L&G census. Something happened in the family (mother died?) and the girls went to live with other families - Ann went to Perth to Hagertys, probably as a servant. Ann married Owen Connelly from Ellice in 1861. They moved to Bay City Michigan where they settled and died. Would love to know if anyone has a story in their Hagerty family about Ann Patrick living with the Hagertys in Ellice. I have their whole story in Michigan but would like some details about Ann's early life! Thanks.

On the 1861 Ellice Township census, I found James, age 25, b: Ireland, R.C. farmer, married and his wife Leah (?) age 24, on Lot 31, Concession 10. Living with them was Ann Patrick, age 18, born Ontario. Does anyone know this family? Ann Patrick married Owen Connelly on Oct. 8, 1861. Owen lived on Conc. 9, Lot 30. I believe Ann was living with the Hagerty family and had done so since a young child - probably early teens on. Thanks.

I am trying to find the birth record for William Thomas Hughes born in Tavistock, Ont. Dec. 14, 1883/84. His mother's name is Mary Jervis / Jarvis, father is unknown. I have found him living with his uncle John Jervis in the 1901 census in North Easthope. The 1891 census has his mother Mary Hughes (widow) living with John and another nephew John Evans; but not her son William. I have found William's marrage registration and his father is not listed. I am hoping someone can help me. I am researching a family of Smiths living in North Easthope in 1851, where they share a log house with a MacGregor family.
The Smiths are Neil and wife Christina and children Alex, Donald, Angus, John and Jane. By 1855 this family has moved to Bruce Co.
I believe Neil died in North Easthope.
Is there any way to pinpoint exactly where they lived in North Easthope and where Neil could possibly be buried.
Neil was my great great grandfather.

Looking for info on Nicholas/Nicolas Tomlinson. He may have been in Perth County in 1820's or 1830's. He was born in 1815 or 1818, in Carlow County, Ireland. He was married to Martha Baker (b. 1818 Petrolia, Ontario-no parents names known) in 1842 in Kincardine. I was told that Nicholas/Nicolas may have come from Perth County. Also, Nicholas/Nicolas Tomlinson has the title "Captain" in front of his name. It is possible he was the captain of a boat? Maybe one that sailed the Great Lakes? Also, family folklore says that he may have immigrated to Canada with a brother. However, I have no info on Nicholas/Nicolas's parents, or siblings, or even which boat he may have captained. Need all the help I can get. My Great Grandfather came to the United States around 1856. He was born in Canada in March 1837 of Irish Parents. I only have two bits of info;
1. On his marriage certificate of March 5, 1865 for where he lived was printed Canton, NY but above it in pencil was Perth.
2. A story related by my Grandfather [B. 1869], was as a little boy, they took the train from Canton to Canada, rode it for 2 days and a night and got to a place in Canada where a whole clan of Red-bearded McCoys lived around the lake.

She came from a family of 6 siblings of Irish descent but her mother was apparently killed in a freak runaway horse accident. We don't know if her father was killed in the same accident but it is a possiblity. Catherine and Christian Diehl adopted her. Her name was Katrina Diehl but it is unlikely that her first name was her biological name since Katrina sounds German. Her adoptive parents were of German descent. I am looking for any info regarding Katrina and was hoping to find connections in any of the families I have listed. I am hoping that perhaps the Diehl famiy bible, if there was one, might have her birth parents listed or brothers/sisters. Any info or assistance would be greatly appreciated since my grandmother is still alive and I would love to share this info with her.

I am hoping for more information on Frederick L Green and his brother Frank Green. They sailed aboard the SS Virginian from Liverpool, which departed May 13, 1914 and arrived in Quebec on May 21, 1914. They were among Mrs. Merry's party.

Frederick was 12 years old when he was placed with a Mr. Thomas Dawes, who was a florist, at 22 Falstaff Street, Stratford, Ontario. In 1916 Frederick was an apprentice cabinet maker and in 1918 he apparently enlisted in the RCHA in Kingston. A relative checked with the RCHA some time ago but they found nothing on him there.

Frank was 10 years old at the time of sailing, he was placed with a Mr. Skinner of North Keppel PO.?

Their mother was Elizabeth Ellen Green, it is believed she later remarried and became Elizabeth Williams. They had two sisters for sure with a possible third.

I am submitting this information on behalf of a relative of Frank and Frederick Green who resides in the UK.

If anyone can help me find more information on them or their families I would appreciate it very much.

I just discovered my Smith family on the 1851 census for North Easthope. They consist of Neil & Christian with children Alex, Donald, Alan, John, Angus and Jane, all from the Isle of Lewis.
By 1857 this family is in Bruce Co. The 1861 census reveals that Neil has died, maybe in Perth.
Although Smith is a quite common nmae, there are only two families in this area in 1851.
If anyone can help me out with this family it would be greatly appreciated.

Indeed metropolitan is a post office.My ancestor neil mcLennan owned the land which the PO was located on lot 14 conscession 8.My great Aunt dropped dead of a brain aneruism
coming out of the post office in the early 1880s.

I found a death record for a William Shoebottom, Widower, who died 7 Feb 1918 & was buried at Stratford. He died at the Aged People's Home at London ON. There is a William Shoebottom living at Strathford Perth County on the 1901 census. His date of birth is listed as 21 Oct 1842.

The Charlotte (O'Neil) Shoebottom I am looking for was born 16 May 1841 & is supposed to have died 12 Dec 1904. I was looking for her in Middlesex County but maybe this is why I can't find her.

He was the second eldest son of John McLean of Brockville (who participated in War of 1812), and was born in Brockville in 1816. William was also in the military (Lieutenant in 7th Leeds Regiment - 1839, became Captain in 1849). He was married to Jane McNish in 1838 in Elizabethtown. He also lived in St. Mary's and Sarnia in later years. He died in 1891 in Chicago, Illinois USA. I am connected to him through his daughter, Catharine Amelia McLean (1839 - 1894), who became Catharine MacFadden.

Andrew Campbell b. 1822, Perth, Ontario. Died Tuscola County, Michigan, 1904. Obit says his father was John Campbell born Scotland, settled in Perth about 1817 / 1818, and died when Andrew was small. John had 7 sons and two daughters, the last daughter born after 1822. About 1833 when Andrew was 11, and after the father died in Perth, the family moved to the London, Ontario, area. Andrew's obit also says they were from the Argyle branch of the Campbell clans.

An older brother and Andrew went to Wayne County, Michigan, about 1838 and worked on building the railroad. He returned to Canada in 1846 and married Margaret Stewart or Steward of East Williams.

Looking for death and burial of John Campbell. Looking for names of his children and his wife.

Census records indicate the children were born in USA (state unknown). I'm seeking the first name of Mary Jane's husband, the correct last name and where the children were born.

Mary Jane then married second William Henry Adams born ca 1845 ontario died 1885 St Marys Perth County. They had one child, Charlotte Matilda Adams b1879. I cannot find William or Mary Jane's burials. I found their death records but not cemetery records. I have been to St Marys Museum in St Marys Ontario but no luck

William Henry Adams was married first to Elizabeth (Lizzie) Rouch who died in St Marys in 1876. They had 4 children I know of, possibly more.

William's death registation says he was an auctioneer living in St Marys

Any help finding more on Mary Jane Massey and her first husband and children, or her burial location would be greatly appreciated

Hello Everyone!

I am looking for information on ALICE DREW.

JAMES WILLIAM GARLEY brought her from Kilborn, London, England to Mitchell, ON as a war bride on August 7, 1919 (according to his WWI records). I imagine that she would be about his age at the time which was 23 in 1919.

I don't know what happened after that as he married again out in Manitoba in 1925. Hoping one of you researching the Drew family may have run into something about her in your research.

Any help at all would be gratefully appreciated.
