There is a large gap in online resources for Ontario deaths. The main database stops in 1938, unless the decedent died overseas, which is covered thru 1947. Otherwise, the main resources are the Canada Obituary Collection, and the Obituary Daily Times Index which starts in 1995. If the family was Catholic, you *might* find it in one of the parish repertoires (as part of the Drouin Collection [on Ancestry or FamilySearch], or on sites like or Otherwise, you're basically stuck browsing through individual cemeteries.

There are a few cemetery transcriptions on the Prescott GenWeb page. You can also check the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid.
