Bill, I think you are the nearest I have found, or I could be wrong...! My Grandfathr was called William Morden, of NOrth Cheam in Surrey. My father is David Morden, Grandmother Elsie Morden (previous name not known at this time. I believe that the name is a French Norman name (deriving from Mordant) it is listed in the Doomsday Book 1066. I think that a branch of this family settled in the U.S. This is all I know - if you have alternative info - please mail me! Thanks
