I am related to the Hart family and have done a fair bit of research on this family, including the McGregor's. I came to the same conclusion that the actual legal marriage came much later, well after children arrived. Marion Barr Hart was the daughter of Archibald Hart & Helen Reid, 3rd great grandparents. I would really like to compare notes!
