Surnames: Kilby, Kilbey, Grieve
Hello - I am trying to sort out if my Samuel Kilby born about 1817 in England who married Barbara Grieve and immigrated to Ontario Canada about 1842 first settling around Bromley Township in Renfrew County and James Kilby born about 1812 in England who married Catherine M. found to be settled in Grattan Township in Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada are brothers. Both leed to a dead end with regards to siblings or parents however both are settled in the same region at the same time and appear to be the only Kilby's in the area at that time let alone all of Canada who suggest they were from England. Any guidance/help would be greatly appreciated. I suspect they may have gone to Canada together and then perhaps had a falling out and the families went their own ways. Maybe? Kind regards, Steph
