The Belden Atlas 1879 wrongly named S(c)hieks Island as "SHEETS" Island.
One branch of the Schieks family anglicised the name to Sheets(Note United Empire Loyalists Lineages where, once again, the name is wrongly spelled as SHEETS).
David S(c)hieks, one of the first judges in Stormont County, is buried in Pleasant Valley Cem., Osnabruck Township.
From what I have been told, the name Schieks was originally Schuetz. Sarah Ann(Sally) Schieks married George Waldorff(anglicised to Waldroff). Sarah Ann Waldorff(droff)born Dec. 10, 1836, a daughter, married Lachlan MacLean, born Isle of Mull, Aug. 8, 1826, the paren ts of George Lachlan MacLean(1863-1937).
