George was probably the son of Peter Post and Amelia Liddell, born 6 JUne 1857 in Ontario (exact place unknown), and Elizabeth was the daughter of John Donaldson and Agnes Thornton, born 25 April 1857 in Ontario, probably in Thurlow Township, Hastings County.

They were married in 1885 (exact date and place unknown) and are reported to have had three children; Agnes Amelia, born 1886 (exact date and place unknown) and died 15 April 1893 in Toronto; James (birth and death date unknown); Frances, born 31 December 1896 (place unknown), married George Bennett (date, place offspring and death details all unknown) and died in 1985 (place and exact date unknown).

I have George and Elizabeth separately in the 1881 and together in the 1901 and 1911 Census, with Frances in the 1901 and 1911 census.

Elizabeth died in Toronto on 5 December 1915 and George died, also in Toronto, on 24 March 1916.
