The 1837 directory for Pickering shows Bryan, Thomas and Hugh Quigley all living on Concession 4 Lot 6. They were the registered co-owners of this property from 1834-1847.

Bryan was my gr-gr grandfather. His co-owners were almost definitely kin, and possibly his brothers...as he would ultimately name two of his three sons Thomas and Hugh.

Hugh and Bryan's family were in the 1852 census for Pickering, as was Thomas' wife Margaret (Judge) Quigley and two daughters. The adults were all born in Ireland. The children were born in Ontario.

Hugh's daughter Frances Annie 1843-1881, married John Hartrick 1829-1905 abt 1861 and their 12 children were all born in the Pickering area. Hugh had a son William Quigley born 1846 but unsure of what happened to him.

Thomas' dgt Bridget Quigley 1849-1910 married Charles J Stephenson 1857-1901 in 1875 and they lived out their lives in the Pickering area having 8 children.

Thomas' other dgt Annie Quigley 1852-1942 married Robert Graham 1839-1883 in 1872 and they had 7 children born in the Pickering area.

Bryan Quigley and his family moved to Huron County in the late 1850's. Until I found the Pickering directory I had no info to show that Bryan had any kin emigrating to Canada. I would love to discuss this with you or anyone having more information as Bryan's Irish origins have been lost to all his descendants. Expanding the family history and knowledge base would be wonderful.
