Just a little note about the areas of which you speak.
Oakwook is in mariposa Township , which was in Victoria County at that them ( It is now called City of the Kawartha Lakes)
Severen Falls is in Muskoka District.
To travel from Oakwood to Severn Falls today would take about 1 1/2 hours. It is not a great distance.
I have no info in my data base on any of the names which you refer to but it is certainly intreging!!
I do how ever have a grandmother -
Margaret Mary MAUDE McIntyre (1891 -1950)
daughter of John McIntyre (abt 1850 -1894)
and Mary McKinnon(1857- 1947)who's parents were
Hugh McKinnon (abt 1827 - 1867) and Margaret Cameron (1836 -1860).
They lived at Cresswell, which is also in Mariposa Township about 6-7 miles from Oakwood.
