OMG I can't believe I made that mistake!!! I feel so stupid, and I apologize that I wasted your time in looking up the wrong name....I was writing as if it were MY grandfather (whose name was William), and accidentally exchanged it for my great-grandfather's name (Thomas William Nowak). Since my dad's name is Thomas William Nowak and my brother's name is William Thomas Nowak ...you can see how I accidentally put down the wrong one!

here is the rough info about Thomas (or Tomasz) Nowak:
born in 1890s (possibly late 1880s), died in the late 1970s. I have no clue what his parents' names were, but I do know he was living in a small city outside Krakow when he moved to Canada.
