please look up the marriage of my great-great-grandfather, John McClellan Gilchrist in "Wellington Marriages 1840-1852."
I do not know his wife's name or the exact date of their marriage. John Gilchrist is listed in the "Directory of the Province of Ontario for 1857" as living in Drayton and working as a blacksmith and waggonmaker. In 1858, his daughter, Janet (or Jannet) Elizabeth Gildhirst was born in Drayton.
