I am researching the 2nd York Militia, also known as the Burlington Heights Militia, at the time of the War of 1812. UEL immigrated 1794. Founded Ryckman’s Corners on the escarpment (now part of Hamiltion). Commissioned as a Captain with the militia May 29, 1806. Served July 29 to 31 and Aug. 14 to 24, 1813. In Niagara District, Sept. 17 to Oct. 24, 1813 (D118)(D121). At Hutes Huas near St. David’s, July 4 to 24, 1814 (D151)(D155). Severely wounded at Lundy’s Lane, July 25, 1814 (SK). At Burlington Heights July 25 to Aug. 16, 1814 (D147). I am looking for additional information on Capt. Ryckman.
