Oh my gracious~! Thank you ever so much for finding this information.
I know that Lily married a third time to a Mr Funston and is buried in Pine Hills. What I did not know was WHO ROBERT WAS - who his family were, where he died - etc. Nana did not tend to discuss him and she married using her fathers name though he died when she was 4 in England ww1. I could never undestand why if he helped raise her she and the other kids did not discuss him.
To find out he died in 1929 tells me my great grandma only had 12 years with him, 7 with her first husband and less with her third, she died @49 so young~! My mother did not get to even meet her grandmother.
Where did you find the info on my Roberts death?
did it say carpenter by trade....that sort of matches the other and the guy in army was carpenter in construction unit.........so I now think Robert maybe married as many as four wives and Lily was his last.
What do you think.......I will have to find death records of wives to eliminate them if they are not same person but I think they all are...
robert marries first Sarah Stinon and has four children, youngest a son, sam born 1894. Sarah dies before 1908 when he marries wife #2 Henrietta MacRea. Henriatta perhaps dies in child birth and her marries wife #3 a mysterious ALICE before 1916 when he joins the army in Construction battallion in late 1916 ....ALICE must die while he is at war and or he leaves her... but marriage certificate to Lily says he is a widower - but he did marry her in England! hmmm....wonder who this alice was....
I would appreciate knowing what you personally think....will take this info to my mother - 65 yrs and strong :).
Thanks Eileen and Happy New Year from Eastern Canada.
