Robert Hamilton Wood (no "s") signed his WWI attestation papers in 1916 in Toronto, giving his address as 475 Richmond Street West, Toronto; wife's name given as Alice; born in Carlton County, Ontario (in which Ottawa is located); born 22 January 1874; a carpenter by trade.
In the 1911 Canadian census, he is working as a carpenter in the Nippissing District of Northern Ontario; noted as married, but his wife is not listed with him.
The Robert Hamilton Wood on the LDS may or may not be the same as the above; here is his marriage in Ontario in 1889:
Robert Hamilton Woods, aged 21, b. Cumberland Ontario, of Metcalfe, farmer, son of James Woods & Sarah Hamilton, married Sarah Ann Stinson, aged 18, b. Nepean Ontario, of same, spinster, daughter of Samuel Stinston & Mary Jane Griffith; witnesses: Margaret & R. White, both of Ottawa; 2 December 1889 in Ottawa
And his second:
Robert Hamilton Wood, aged 36, b. Toronto, of same, bachelor, carpenter, son of James Wood & Sarah Ann Hamilton, married Henrietta McCrea, aged 28, b. Ontario, of Toronto, spinster, daughter of Stephen McCrea & Henrietta Read; witnesses: Henrietta McCrea & Mary L. Brown, both of Toronto; 15 April 1908 in Toronto.
Your Robert Hamilton Wood died 2 October 1929 at the Christie Street Hospital in Toronto; aged 69 years; a carpenter by trade; parents' names not known; informant is Mrs. Lilly Wood of 147 Claremont Street, Toronto; burial at Prospect Cemetery on 5 October 1929.
