HI Henry Rowsell,

According to some family records that I have uncovered, your last name was (a while ago) Roussel (or some version thereof). I'm not sure if you are still searching for your family, but I may be able to provide you with some info about your ancestors who did, indeed, come from Pushthrough/McCallum/Hermitage and other small outports on the south coast of Newfoundland. The Roussels were part of the Camp/Lee/Lilly group who settled in the area. the Roussels and the Camps, from what I have been able to discover, were Hugenots who settled (when Protestants weren't very welcome in France) first in England and then in places such as Newfoundland and the British Colonies, including, in time, Québec.
