My great Grand Father was Carl A. Martin Born 1863 in Enosburg Falls Vermont. On a copy of his marriage certificate retrieved from Vermont Vital Records His Mother was noted as Sarah Wells and His father was Henry Martin.

I have researched 5 different Henry Martins from Franklin County Vermont around that time with no direct ties to Carl or Sarah. I did find a Henry listed in the Enosburg Falls 1860 census living on the Hall’s farm as a laborer 19 years old from Canada East.

I suspect that this Henry (born 1839) was from Richmond Quebec the son of Thomas Martin and Sarah Cummings .(Thomas was from Compton)

I wonder if anyone can help me verify a connection between This Henry and my Carl and Sarah Wells.

I believe there were Wells familys in Frelighsburg and Hatley.
