I am looking for any information regarding my Grandmother Mary Frances Hewes born April 14, 1892 in Massawippi, Quebec, Mary was a domestic servant for the Hamm Family (Henry & Delia) on the 1901 canadian census Stanstead # 195 hatley F-2 PAGE 1. I have located a Hewes (Hewer transcription error) Family in the 1891 Census located in Stanstead # 190 Hatley District. I am interested in this Hewes (Hewer) family because after the 1891 Census the Family's trail goes cold, also the Hamm family that my Grandmother was domestic servant for is on the same census page in 1891 as the Hewes (Hewer) family, on the 1891 Census page their is a son named Frederich aged 8 and my Grandmother had a brother named Frederick. On the census their is a female age 3 but the name is illegable. Lastly Mr. W.R. Hewes died Sept. 22, 1896, the year my Grandmother was supposed to have been "adopted" out to the Hamm Family. Any information or leads on the Hewes (Hewer) or Hamm family would be greatly appreciated. My grandmother Mary Frances Hewes married Harold Arthur Yetter in New Port, Vermont 1915. Thank you, Debby McGuire
