My grandmother was Elsie Susan MacDonald who was born (1888) on Dee Side along with all her siblings. The oldest Bessie and youngest Wallace. Their father and mother was Charlies 'Craff' MacDonald and Annie MacCallum. Craff had a brother Sandy whose wife was Susie, that probably lived not to far from you... "... on the other side of the river 3 miles away." is from Frank MacDonald's (Nan's favorite brother) manuscript of an unpublished book. He did have a book published "The Kaiser's Guest" about his year as a POW during WWI and his 3 escape attempts. It's available on Kindle if your interested.

Any thing you know, or can find out, about the family would be appreciated. I don't think there's any related MacDonald's or MacCallum's left in the Matapedia area as I believe they all went west in the early '20's.
