CLARKE, Eldred Francis “Frank” – 89, beloved husband and father, who will be forever missed, passed away peacefully in Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, QE II Hospital, Halifax, NS on Wednesday, Ferbruary 8, 2012. Born on the Magdalen Islands, QC, on August 19, 1922, he was the son of the late Norris and Margaret Clarke. Frank served with the Prince Edward Island Highlanders Armed Forces during the Second World War. He worked at CNR for 46 years. Frank enjoyed being outside, especially in the Veterans’ Gardens and he also enjoyed bowling and playing cribbage. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth (Champion) of Halifax; his daughters Betty Jean (Doug) Frenette of Halifax; Linda (Jon David) Clarke of Dartmouth; and his brother George (Mary) of Dartmouth. He was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret (Ash) and Zeta (Napkin). Visitation will be held from 2-4, 6-8 PM Thursday, February 16, 2012 in Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax, where memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, February 17, 2012 in the funeral home chapel.
