Hi. I'm tracing back from Marie Francoise Chabot baptized 15 Sept 1784 Rimouski. Her parents are shown as Francois Chabot and Genevieve Gagnon; godfather Pierre Cotin; godmother Marie Francoise Convent(or St Convent?). According to Tanguay's Dictonnaire, this was the second marriage of Francois, son of Jean Baptist and Genevieve Isabelle.
The problem is that this second marriage idea doesn't seem to be supported by the burial records of first wife, Angelique Boulet, and second wife, Genevieve Gagnon. Burial record of 29 June 1799 La Baie du Febvre (Yamaska county)shows "Angelique Boulet, spouse of Francois Chabot, farmer, 40 years old". Francois Chabot is not present. Age doesn't match, but the place matches the place of her son's marriage(refer to marriage of Pierre Valliere, son from Angelique's first marriage, and Reine Boisvert 24 Nov 1789 La Baie du Febvre). Burial record of 15 April 1790 La Pocatiere shows "Genevieve Gagnon, widow of Chabot, age 37." Francois Chabot is not present. Age is one year off from a Genevieve born to Jacques and Marie Madeleine Pinel. Place matches her birth place (refer to baptism record of 24 Jan 1752 Ste Anne de La Pocatiere).
The marriage (probably 1777-1779)between Francois and Genevieve...I am unable to find. Was this another Francois Chabot? Please..any ideas, additions, or corrections?
