More data is needed before a successful search across the border can be performed. This is a common surname as well as a "dit". I did a quick search, over 10 Severe Martin b btw 1861-66, and 30+ Francois Martin in the same period.
Do you have the marriage record of this couple in Michigan? You *might* be able to find a civil record, however it's more likely the marriage record will be in a parish register. This should have the names of the parents.
The death records *might* have names of the parents, or some clues.
These documents need to be found first, if they render no data, then there are back-doors to use.
