I am looking for resources for McNall families living in the Lane's Purchase or Lachute area of Argeneuil between 1796 and 1812. The only secondary references to early Lachute which I have found are in a digitized book: "History of the counties of Argenteuil, Que. and Prescott, Ont., from the earliest settlement to the present. by Cyrus Thomas, especially at pp. 203, 204, 233, which mentions "Captain McNall" (also Captain McNeil) Uriah McNall (and Uriah McNeil) and Wm. McNall.
There is also a nice set of Wikipedia articles on the area.
Alas, no resources or archives mentioned in the book or wikipedia article.
Familysearch.org lists Protestant church microfilm records beginning in the 1830s by which time Uriah has moved to New York and William appears to have returned to Vermont.
Thank you for any pointers,
