I'm looking for more details on these great-great-great grand-parents' origins and ascendence. I'm told we have French and First Nations blood :) on this side of the family. Found so far:
Emery DUMOUCHEL and Marie-Adélaide DORION were married in St-Eustache in Jan. 1862 - I found Emery Dumouchel at Lac des Deux-Montagnes in 1861 (along with a Camille Dumouchel, who ended up on Calumet Island as "tanneur" 1871 - his brother?). Emery is listed as a farmer in Curran, Ont. in 1871 (Plantagenet twp, Prescott cty). The 1881 OGSPI Census also lists him there with family ("Demouchell" and wife is "Mary" with unknown maiden name - their children: Sophie, Napoleon, Clara, Zulima (my gr-great-grandmother, also known as Zuluma and Celina) and Clemantine - with them is widow "Demouchell (?) Esther").
Marie-Adélaide DORION's parents: Firmin DORION and Marie-Adelaide ROCHON, married in St-Eustache in 1836.
M.-A.'s ROCHON's parents: Antoine ROCHON and Angélique TOUIN (or Thouin) married in St-Eustache in 1814. I found an Antoine Rochon, farmer, in Curran Ont. in 1871.
Firmin DORION's parents: Ch. (Charles?) DORION and Marie- Louise (sometimes Louise) LAMIRANDE-COUSINEAU, married in Montréal (St-Laurent) in 1808.
Emery DUMOUCHEL's parents: François-Xavier and Sophie BRISEBOIS, married in St-Benoit in 1825. Emery has at least 2 brothers, François-Xavier (jr), and Joseph who married Denise Aubry in Ste-Scholastique in 1848.
François-X.(sr) DUMOUCHEL's parents: Ls (Louis?) DUMOUCHEL and Catherine DAMOUR.
Sophie BRISEBOIS's parents: François BRISEBOIS and Marie CAMPEAU.
Thank you/Merci! (Yep, French or English is fine)
