I responded to your message on Ancestry once before... Have you found any of your LaChance or DeChampes relatives that lived on Newberry st. in southwest Detroit? I lived 2 doors away from a LaChance family and the house that my parents purchasted (about 1948) had belonged to a John & Helen DeChampes.

Any chance they could be the same family that you are searching (LaChance/DeChamps)?
