Surnames: Meehan, Flood, Brady, Maxwell, Murray, Kearns, Black
I have a pretty strong confirm from another Huntingdon Co. researcher that my Hemmingford ancestor, Patrick Meehan, (Ann[a] Flood's husband) was buried there, and was Catholic at the last-- I have heard that the headstones/records from the "old" catholic cemetery in Hemmingford are lost, so. . . But I also wonder about Patrick's daughter, Eliza Meehan, who married an Owen Brady in Hemmingford, I believe. All of this is mid 1800s.

Patrick was born 1807 in Ireland, died 3/22/1866, say the family records. His wife, Ann(a) Flood, was said to be Protestant before marrying, and likely from Donegal in Ireland. A family tale is that the Meehan name in Ireland was O'Meehan but they dropped the O' when coming to Canada. While they were sailing up the St. Laurence river their first son, Edward, was born, they settled on a farm in Canada and Elisa, James, William, Andrew, Catherine Isabella were born there. William served in the Canadian Army for awhile just across the border from Niagara Falls.

Their son-in-law, Owen Brady, was b. 1824-- Patrick's dau. (and Owen's wife), Eliza, was b. 1842, say the family records. Owen and Eliza had 6 kids, Mary Ann (Meehan --born outside of marriage) b. 1869, William b. 1870, Edward, James, Katie, Eliza Brady.

While Patrick Meehan is said to have been buried in Canada, his wife and most if not all children went on to the Pepin/Dunn Co areas of WI.

Meehan Family stories include Bradys and Floods living in the same area in Wisconsin, USA.
In St. Henry's church cemetery, Eau Galle, Dunn Co, WI, are:

BLACK/James/May 11, 1844/Feb. 18, 1910. Catherine (Meehan)/Oct. 26, 1851/Feb. 21, 1917.

MEEHAN
Andrew/1849-1931
Mother/1814-1889 (This must be Ann(a)Flood Meehan)
Edward H./1837-1900

So any researchers of Meehan, Flood, Brady from this area, please contact me for an exchange. Also connected are Maxwell (m. Flood) and White.
