Illegitimate and Orphan Information in Early Quebec, Canada

I am searching for the parents of Eusebe inconnu who was baptized at St. Hilaire/St. Mathias Church, Marieville, Quebec on 5 March 1810. According to the record he was born "ne de la jour" or born that day. I have written to the Church and donated money but have not heard back from them (they haven't cashed the check either) which tells me they aren't interested in helping me obtain information on what happened to Eusebe's parents. Family lore passed down 5 generations states that they died of an epidemic (possible Indians) and gave the child to the church to raise. His Godmother (Josephte Fonteneau) a widow of two years raised him as her own - without adoption. Someone must have known something about this child in 1810. Can anyone help with this time, place and era?
