I am researching the Green's of East Templeton, Quebec in the 1800's. My g-g-g-grandfather was Samuel Grimes Green. I am wondering if his mother could have been Elizabeth Grimes who lived with William Green and his family in the Canadian Census of 1852. I have been trying to find the origin of my g-g-g-grandfather for months now and haven't been able to find anything concrete. He was born abt. 1799 in the U.S. and is of Scottish origin. Could the Grimes and Green families have married together? Could Samuel and William be brothers? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Also, I can't find anything on Samuel Grimes Green's wife. Family history says she may have been a Kirk. Would you know anything about that also?
Thanks so much for any help you can give.
