Where would I look for Burials and Wills?

Looking for information on EMMA ROBERTS b. London, England, in 1887 and her sister, ALICE ROBERTS b. 1889 London, England. They were sent to Canada from a London orphanage sometime around late 1890's.

ALICE married JAMES G. R. YOUNG in Feb 14 1911 @ Drummond Court, Lanark County, Ontario. He was a farmer and his parents were ADAM & MARGARET YOUNG of Drummond County.

I think James YOUNG had some connection with the town of Osler, Saskatchewan.

EMMA was one of the witnesses at the wedding and her residence is shown as Carleton Place. The other witness was John Walbeh or Walker of Drummond.

Can anybody advise please.

Green Lake & Ile a la Crosse families pre 1911

After 2 years of work, I have manage to piece together 2500 people from the the families of Green Lake and Ile a la Crosse. I have been through the Green Lake & Ile a la Crosse parish records from 1911 back. Along with the help from Scripts & the 1881, 1891, & 1901 census. Along with recieving info from some very relaible source, and oral interviews done with elders.
So Anyone with an interest in any of these family names I would love to hear from you.
Morin, Laliberte, Caisse, Aubichon, Meraste, Kennedy, Lafleur, and the list can go on. If You have your family back to 1911 I hope I can help.

I'm wondering if there are any history books or other books written concerning the areas of Pike's Peak and Maidstone.

My g-grandfather first homesteaded here in 1910/11 and had some family in the area. His name was Jonas Ludvig Nilsson FROM, however he used many variations of this name and eventually kept Louis NELSON.

I'm looking for any other FROMs that had been in the area as well.

Looking for information on John Francis Haynes. He was born 1878 in Gateshead, Northumberland (UK). He was Rev Canon of Lloydminster around 1942 when his son John Stewart Haynes was killed in action. Think he met and married wife Margaret Susannah ? in Canada. John died in 1945 and Margaret in 1947. I understand that they also had a daughter Margaret, but have not other information on her. and living with an Aunt at the time.

I had been a Friend of Lornes at the time and it has bothered me my Whole life that I never got to attend his funeral.
The notice was never Published in the Edmonton Newspaper.

He was returned to Saskatchewan for Burial, I cannot remember where he was from.

Any assistance would be Greatly appreciated.

I was a young guy who looked up to Lorne , he kept me on the Straight and narrow when I was going thru a rough time in my Life.

The Rev. Alexander Campbell died in Lashburn on 18 October 1918.
He was born in Lanark County, Ontario 21 April 1837.

Would some kind person please do an obituary lookup for me please?
We have no idea where he is buried. His wife's name was Eleanor.

I don't know if he was retired or not at the time. He had a Presbyterian church/mission at Rockwood, Lisgar, Manitoba per the 1881 Census.

During his career served churches in Montreal, Winnipeg, Lashburn, Sask., and the Manitou Lake District area.

I need the actual obituary to find out where he was buried.

He is mentioned in an article written by the late Evelyn Brawn.

Nothing else is at that website to indicate his burial place. The Presbyterian Archives have no clue either.

He died in Lashburn because he got blood poisoning/infection after having dental work done there. Lanark County, Ontario newspapers (where he was born) do not mention where he was buried.

Looking for information on the family of John H Thoreson who lived around the Parkside, Sask area. He was still alive on 3/30/1942 as per a letter from his daughter received by my grand father. He was a brother to my great grandfather Lars Thoreson. He was born in Norway on 6/18/1855 and sailed from Oslo, Norway on or about 4/11/1873 with a listed destination of McGregor, IA. Arrived in the port of Quebec, Canada, don't know if he went to Iowa or stayed in Canada.

Looking for information on the descendants of Charles Ernest Moore and Mary Harper (Perley) Moore.

Mary Harper Perley was born in Maugerville, Sunbury County, New Brunswick on 20 Oct 1882 to George Albert Perley and Anne Hastings Harper. She married Charles Ernest Moore 20 Oct 1909 in Sunbury County, NB. The two of them appear on the 1911 census in MacLeod, Alberta. Charles is listed as being born in Oct 1879 in the U.S.A. with his date of entry into Canada as 1886. Mary is then mentioned in her father's death notice of 1934 as residing in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and then mentioned again in her mother's death notice in 1940 as residing in the same area.

Unfortunately, this is all I have to go on. I would be very greatful for any help.

I would like to share family history info with my cousins, the descendants of Isaac Brock Davenport (Nov 29, 1859 - 1931) & Estella Ada Defoe (Nov 10, 1862 - 1939).

This couple emigrated from Parkhill, Ontario, Canada to Lloydminster between 1901 & 1911.

Brock Davenport was a brick & tilemaker.

Their children were: Edmund Floyd Davenport (Feb 12, 1884 - 1958), Florence May Davenport (Oct 16, 1887 - after1917), Carling Davenport (Jan 27, 1888 - ?), Edith P. Davenport (Apr 9, 1890 - ?), Charles William Davenport (Feb 6, 1892 - Sept 26, 1934), Myrtle Evalina Davenport (May 28, 1893 - ?), and Lewis Milton Davenport (Dec 8, 1894 - ?).

Both originated in eastern Canada in late 1800's early 1900 moved west with the Hudson Bay Company looking for family connections in the east or esle where. I beleieve my great grandfather was Joseph Halcrow. The Sisters changed the family name in the 1900 in Beauval Saskatchewan to Alcrow.
Phillip Halcrow married Elmire Maurice and they reside in Beauval Sask.

I am looking for information on my g-grandfather, William George Searles who moved to Lashburn Saskatchewan with his wife Serepta ("Rita") in about 1922, passed away and was buried there in 1925. The process of elimination suggests that he was buried in either: the Lashburn Community, Lone Rock - Holy Trinity, Lone Rock - Houston, or Marshall - Wilton cemetery. Does anyone have access to these records? Would you be willing to check them for GWS?

They are sisters and their names are Muriel and Gwyneth. The photograph was taken 1946 in Prince Sask. which is the only information I have. I am also have a letter from their mother to my family and other names mentioned in the letter are, Hubert .... Gerald, Alvin and Esther Berndt ... Frank Ray...Hubert and Marcel Deverdyne.....the Boveys.
My father stayed with this family during WW2 while in the RAF in North Battleford. They continued writing when he returned to England.
I would love any information.

Francis Ashton b Abt. 1837 Devonshire, England emigrated from ON to Meadow Lake as a widower to join his sons and apparently died there Abt. 1912 and is buried in Mountain Cemetery.

Son William Albert Ashton b 20 June 1862 married to Sarah Emerson d abt Abt. January 1940 Meadow Lake (Children:
Alexander, William, Hubert and George).

Son John Ashton b 16 November 1865 d abt 1951 in North Battleford, SK. Married to Annie Laurie Weaver who died Abt. 1944 Strasbourg, SK. {Children: Freeman, Muriel and Lina).

Looking for date of death and obituary for Francis, William and John/Annie and/or other information on them or their families. They were also apparently in Saskatoon area as well.

In 1916 she married Richard Hodgson, a Carlisle telegraphist connected to a Canadian unit based in England. I suspect they emigrated to Canada soon after WW1. I know her Lloydminster PO Box address from a Carlisle will of 1955. Is there anyone who can help me establish when she died, and if she had any children in Canada? Part of Mc Farlane 's odit reads "The funeral occurred at Delmas on June 21, 1900; a high mass of requiem was offered up by Rev. Father Delmas, a large concourse of friends and relatives attending the last sad rites".

my mothers name was parenteau she was born 1944 but has passest away , she is a second sibline of seven composed of six girls and 0ne boy . she had 8 kids. Some were put up for adoption. One stayed with a grandmother.

My father (Unknown name) was born 1951 and is residing in Prince Albert SASK, he is sibline of eleven composed of six boys and five girls. One brother died at 17 due to drowning.

Don't think they were married.

Andrew Gudvangen took up a homestead in the Stowlea area in 1914 . my father Andrew Roosdahl said Gudvangen's second wife was his aunt. He had a daughter Pearl with this second wife. The last census for Saskatchewan was 1911 and he was not in the area then. His homestead record can be found in the Canada archives website

These names feature in the Lashburn History record, and may be related to me.
Grace seems to be a literary lady - She contributed to the History book, and started the Lashburn Senior citizens in 1969. She also received mention as a relative of a 1905+ pioneer. As a Mrs, she must have married into my relatives, the Tuckers of Lashburn. If she has relatives out there, please try to find time to contact me.
I have hopes too of Walter Tucker, also of Lashburn, whom, I believe married a Searle, and was buried at Lashburn Cemetary in 1966 aged 72
If anyone in Canada can help, I would be so grateful. Long distance research is still a problem

Lost Tucker in Lashburn

I have lost track of James, and Arthur Tucker who homesteaded in Lashburn until 1918 or thereabouts, when James (the father) and Arthur (the son) sold their farms. Rosabella, James' wife died in Sask (location unknown) in 1925. James was still alive at this point. There was also a daughter, Louisa, aged about 29 in 1918, but I do not know her married name.
Is there anyone out there for me?

Where would I be able to find out marriage details for:

Hiram MILLER (widower of Lloydminister) and
Agnes KERR (previously unmarried of Lloydminister and originally from Glasgow, Scotland)

We believe that Hiram and Agnes were married in Lloydminister approximately Jul-Aug-Sep 1911. A newspaper cutting dated 19 October 1911 reports on a special funtion for the couple upon their return from their wedding trip.It appears that Agnes had had some considerable involvement with a Lloydminister Presbyterian Church. The minister who spoke at the function was the Rev. Allan Laing.

I am researching the PAQUETTE family. Joseph PAQUETTE was married first to Malvina MARTIN in 1883 at Lac Ste Marie, Gatineau County, Quebec and second to Bernadette MORIN in 1898 at Maniwaki, Gatineau County. From an obituary for Joseph Paquette who died in Oneida County, Wisconsin in Dec 1928 it states:

"Joseph came from St. Walburg, Sask two years ago to manage the farm of his son Frank . . . he leaves a son Dennis of Moose Jaw, Sask and sons Albert, James, Raymond and Arthur of St. Walburg, Sask and a daughter Miss Margaret Paquette of Walburg, Sask." No mention of any wife. Does anyone recognize this family? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please can anyone help?

I am trying to fine out anything I can about a relative of mine called Thomas Edward Akroyd born Halifax, England 1866, died Lashburn, Saskatchewan 19/06/1918. I don't know the exact time he emigrated but must have been shortly after 1902. I know he was buried in Lashburn graveyard and was a freemason. If anyone is able to look up a obituary, grave inscription or a census inscription etc I would be really pleased.

Daisy Roulston was born Nov 20, 1916 my father's daughter but used the Roulston name. She married Clifford Manning in 1936 and had 2 sons Colin and Don and farmed in the Livelong area before moving to Calgary and perhaps only the boys went there. I am following vague info as my dad died in 1956 when I was 7 years old. I am in search of whatever info I can find from anyone out there that knows anything.

My dad, Fred Roscoe Wisner used to travel stallions in the Livelong area back in the 1930's and perhaps earlier. One Farceur de Flashwood belgian stallion for one. Perhaps someone remembers him and can tell me some stories.

Hopefully this will click with someone and get in touch with the rest of the family which is quite extended .we were fortunate to find an american cousin last year .

My great aunt is searching for information on a John LANG and descendants. His d.o.b.: Jan. 23, 1902 in Grayson, Saskatchewan. His mother was Mary BRUCH, d.o.b.: Feb. 7, 1882 in Grodek, Galicia. She died on May 2, 1903 in Mariahilf, Saskatchewan of "swamp fever". His father was George LANG, d.o.b.: Feb. 25, 1878. He died in 1945 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. George and Mary were married on April 19, 1901 in Mariahilf, Saskatchewan.

As a young man John returned to the Mariahilf area on one occasion to visit BRUCH relatives. He was employed as a ranch hand in Montana at that time. We don't know where he spent the rest of his life, if he had siblings (if his father remarried) or if he married and had a family. It's possible that John may have lived in Saskatchewan since his father died at Lloydminster.

Any leads or information would be appreciated.

Minnie is my paternal grandmother who did not know her son, born March 1916 in Detroit, MI was alive when she returned shortly after his birth. He was placed in Detroit's Salvation Army. Wm. James Bickford served in WWII and died 1953 after marrying and having 2 dtrs. and 2 sons.

James and Minnie were maid and butler in a well-to-do household in Detroit after marrying and divorcing in Detroit.
(divorce 1917? Married in Woodward Street Baptist Church in Detroit.)

Late '40's investigation by Bill placed his mom in CA or Canada remarried. That was as far as his research took him before his early death.

Gudvangen in the U.S. and is said to have died after they moved to the area around St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, Canada. Does anyone know how I can find a death date for her? My great great great Grandfather Charles Poor (e) came from the USA his wife's name was Minnie Pearl, he owned a store in Meeting Lake Saskatchewan according to family sources. His son SYLVESTER POOR was born in Devil's Lake ND, he married Pearl Peck born in Sleepy Eye MN and had a daughter Grace (who married Sylvan White) in Rabbit Lake. He settled in Green Lake eventually and died in MooseJaw. He had several children Grace,already mentioned, Art, Orville (who died -March 2002- in Spiritwood Sask.), Glen (Signey), Denny/Denman- (my Grandfather -who married Mabel Berg the daughter of Alfred Berg who homesteaded in Rabbit Lake), Alice who married Art Johnston, Dolly (Susan), John (married Erna Llick- she attended Stokes School). Denman had 4 children and they homesteaded near Glenbush Saskatchewan. Ronald (my father married Phyllis Prodahl- her family was from Prince Albert Sask.), Raymond, Hazel (married Harvey Quering), and Marjorie. Any info about my ggg grandfather Charles would be highly appreciated and his wife Minnie Pearl. He had a son William (Billy) who went back to the USA. Bill had a son Marion who married an Esther Newman. They had several children all V- names ie Vernon, Vesta Virgil, Violet......There was also a Brother Ralph who also resided in the USA. Any info about Minnie Pearl's last name or Where Charles came from in the US or any data at all that would help me in my search would be much appreciated.

I'm looking for information on my great grandfather and great grandmother. Their names are Dr. William Seymour and Jesse (Jessie? Jessica?) Seymour (maiden name MacFarlane). Dr. Seymour was a vet and was born in Sandy Lake in the late 1800's. Jesse was born in something like Kinistino (can barely read the handwriting), Saskatchewan. I am attempting to find information on a Sam Peters and his wife Annie. There is a possibility that he is a brother of my grandfather, Heindrich J. Peters. I have a pciture of he and his wife celebrating their 55th wedding anniversay taken in October 1969. This means they were married in 1914. Considering that they were in their early twenties when they got married, they were born in the early 1890's. I have a record of a brother of my grandfather, named Solomon, who was born in 1892 in South Dakota, but have not been able to obtain any later information. I am trying to research the Holod name. My great-grandfather immigrated to the US from the Ukraine in 1907. His name was Olexa (Alexander) Holod. His last name was changed to Hollod upon arrival to the US. I have no other info about this side of the family. When he arrived he was 18 years old, making his birth year about 1889.
