Where is Dodgeville, Saskatchewan?

Could someone please let me know where Dodgeville, Saskatchewan is located and also which larger town/city is it near? I am trying to track down the burial location of my great great grandmother who may have been living in Dodgeville when she died circa 1912. If anyone reading this is familiar with cemeteries in the area of Dodgeville, if you could please give me a suggestion or two of the names of cemeteries to try, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks for your help!

Dewdrop, Saskatchewan in 1912: What county/township?

Today I was extracting information from a US Civil War Pension file, andI found the soldier/veteran (Oscar M. Morse) in a place called Dewdrop, Saskatchewan in 1912. In what county is/was Dewdrop located? I found him in the Homestead Search Index where he was in SE Part of Section 9, Twp. 10, Range 1, W3 Meridian. He may have also been in SW section 10, Twp. 10, Range 1, Meridian W3. Is there a good county/twp. map online? I may have finally found his middle name, if this is the same person with adjoining homestead parcels(?) in this township/county,.

Benjamin was the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Roszel nee Reilly. Born in Ontario, possibly Goderich or Erin. He died July 12 1937. Annie Whiteside was his second wife. The date of their moving west is unknown. It is believed they had two sons in Ontario, John Hyndman Roszel and William James Roszel. We would like to trace this family if possible so it can be included in the Reilly Family History. Is Annie Whiteside Roszel buried with her husband?? Were there children born out west?? Where did they settle?? Any information is sincerely appreciated. Thank you. LH

I am trying to locate any living descendants of a Kenneth TWATT who married a Peggy ( maybe Ann) RITCH. In about 1947, they were living at 220 Ominica St., Moose Jaw, Sask. They had at least one child, a son, Keith b. 30 Apr 1932. He may have changed his last name to WATT.

It is believed that he married a Viola Catherine SMITH and had at least three children: Cindy Ann, Kevin James, Lynelle. Believe Cindy Ann married a William CURSITER and Lynelle married a Rick HAUG.

We are trying to update our CHALMERS CLAN BOOK which was last updated in 1947. Any leads would be appreciated.
Am trying to locate my grandfathers brother George W. Reynolds and wife Belle Martin. They had six daughters:
Maude (married to Melville Everett and lived in Illinois), Belle, Bessie, Grace, Georgia, and Daisy. All born in the 1880's & 1890's. Would love info to add to our already growing Reynolds Family tree on Ancestry.com. And simply just to get to know these relatives, once and for all. My grandfather spoke about them, but we never really knew where they were. A relative in Canada helped me locate them, at least we think they are the right family, in the Canadian Census. Please help us reunite with their off spring. Thank you very much. Bev. Stringer in Phila. Pa.
beastringer@aol.com

My Grandfather died in the Somme, possibly in the advance against Courcelette and Regina Trench. He met my Grandmother in Shorncliffe in Kent, while training there. she found out she was pregnant just before he left for the front and he promised to marry her when he returned. whilst away he wrote to his family and told them of the baby and his intention to marry, but never returned. After the war his family contacted my Grandmother and asked her to go to Canada to live but she wouldn't leave her extended family. She refused to tell my mother the name of her father and swore all her sisters to secrecy. We feel she was scared of losing my mother to her Canadian family. Sadly this secret was kept until everyone who could have told us had died. My only hope is to find a family in Canada who has a similar story, of a relative who had a child in England but died in battle. My Mother was born 15th May 1917 and my Grandmothers name was Annie Relf.

I am looking into my grandmothers family background. Her maiden name was Catherine Zaokipnyj. She was one of three children who came from Zalucze, Ukraine. I have found a few references for the Zoakipny name where they have come to Canada from villages close to Zalucze. Althought the surnames are slightly different in spelling, they are close enough to possibly be related. There was a Stepon Zoakipny who died on May 7th, 1952 in Moose Jaw. He was survived by his widow, a daughter, and 3 sons. I would like to make contact with members of his family to discuss the possibility of there being a distant family connection.

Mary Alma Bruce was my Grandmother, she came to Canada
and settled in the Rowletta, Saskatchewan district with her parents William and Virginia Bruce about 1914. She married
Joseph Bernard Hennenfent, son of Nicholas and Mary (Kurtz
or Cortis) Hennenfent on July 29, 1915. Mary Had two
brothers, William Carl Bruce and Elijah Claude Bruce.
Mary and Joseph raised a family of six Roseanna, Florence
(Bessy), Joseph the eldest son died at the age of eight,
Raymond, Roy and Ron. Ron is my father. I remember my
Grandmother talking about Uncle Elijah and Aunt Sarah also
Dewey. We never knew alot about the Bruce family except
for Great Grandpa and Grandma Bruce. Carl Bruce was
a well known horse trainer in Texas, he worked for a circus in
the USA. I have more information about the family and would
like to learn more about the Bruce families. I am looking
forward to hearing from you.
He was one of the first trustees of Horizon School. They had four girls: Althea, Jean, Clara and Laura. Mrs. Harley passed away and Mr. Harley and the girls moved away to Bow Island. I just wondered if any one knew of a website that might have more information on the years he spent in this area.

Thanks
Kim
I am interested in where he was born, England I believe. A copy of the debriefing with Sitting Bull for mine is too poorly photocopied to be read. An account of his any particulars you may find on his personal life. I have a history of family todate but can't go back before his marriage to Mary Rebecca (Beckie).

Hi Irene
Are you still willing to do look-ups? If so I would really appreciate the following. I am looking for information as to when Capt. Charles Smith died. He was born Dec 3, 1839 in Toronto and lived in the Caledon area of Peel County until sometime in the late 1800's-probably after 1890 when he and some of his family moved west. He was in the militia and was awarded a medal for fighting the Fenians which was sent to him in 1901 in Moose Jaw. He had a number of children, some of whom are buried in the Moose Jaw Cemetery but he doesn't appear in the list of burials on-line. He died sometime after 1926 as he is mentionned as living in Moose Jaw in a newspaper article on his older sister that year. His wife was Mary Ann Erskinewho apparently died before 1901. Have been unable to find where he is buried or when he died. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

I am researching the PAQUETTE family. Joseph PAQUETTE was married first to Malvina MARTIN in 1883 at Lac Ste Marie, Gatineau County, Quebec and second to Bernadette MORIN in 1898 at Maniwaki, Gatineau County. From an obituary for Joseph Paquette who died in Oneida County, Wisconsin in Dec 1928 it states:
"Joseph came from St. Walburg, Sask two years ago to manage the farm of his son Frank . . . he leaves a son Dennis of Moose Jaw, Sask and sons Albert, James, Raymond and Arthur of St. Walburg, Sask and a daughter Miss Margaret Paquette of Walburg, Sask." No mention of any wife. Does anyone recognize this family? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Author: Mary Jane Moss	Date: 4 Jun 2005 3:46 PM GMT
I am researching the PAQUETTE family. And ideas where I might find information on this? Could they have been an industrial type league. He worked for Gorden, Ironsides and Faire a meat packer/shipper in Moose Jaw.

Could anyone give me any pointers for tracking down fairly recent relatives. I really need census for 1940/1950/1960 but there are not available of course. An uncle once lived in Moose Jaw or the surrounding district in those years but for some reason he never answered letters after about 1956. We've tried many avenues over the years, except for a P.I. even tried the local Pigeon Breeders Club. Any suggestions.
Is there a local central burial authority record office or are there only privately owned cemeteries that keep their own records. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I am looking for information on my family who came from Wales and settled in the Moose Jaw area. They are the Robert Williams family -- from Betws y Coed, North Wales.
They sailed from Liverpool in 1913 to Halifax Nova Scotia. The family consisted of Robert, his wife Hanna Jane (Morrit) and their 8 children: Robert Jr., Martha Jane, John, Edith, Frederick, David James, Louisa, and Harry. I do not know how they got from Halifax or why/where they went to Saskatchewan. I know they only stayed a short time before moving to Detroit Michigan USA. I would appreciate any books or materials that could give me a history of the region at that time. If there is anyone who does research or knows of the Welsh settlement there, I would love to be in contact.

Thank you,
Lori Rulison
200 Shellstone Road
Amsterdam, NY USA 12010

email: lrulison@hotmail.com
