Peggy,
I don't have a Michael or Carl Usselman listed in my great uncle, Joseph Uselman's, family. But they could have been cousins. His family came from Selz, Kutschurgan, Odessa, Russia and before that Weissenbourg, Alsace.
Have you checked the Kutschurgan website? It has been very helpful to me in tracing my Hopfinger/Brossart ancestors.
Sometimes the ships records mention a family member in the USA. Try Ellis Island.
There are a number of Usselman families in Canada, some near Denzil and Allen, Saskatchewan and some near Beiseker, Alberta.
Laury Walkey has a much more extensive database of Uselmans - maybe she could help you more.
Good Luck!
Tanya
