Thomas SMITH landed in San Jose del Cabo in 1908 and stayed in Baja. Two years later he married Maria MEZA and started a family. During the Mexican-American war Thomas and his children translated and worked for the American Naval Forces. In 1948 Thomas and his family were evacuated to Monterey, CA. with several families. Many of the SMITH's returned to Comondu and migrated to Southern California. I have most of the information on the descendents of Thomas but am missing information on some of the sons that stayed in Northern California. I'll be glad to exchange information on the SMITH from Baja family.
