My wife's great grandmother's name was Francisca Ponce Montes de Oca (Quica), grandmother Escolastica (Aca) and mother Emily Cordova. Your mother and aunt may remember them. My wife's grandfather was Biterbo Cordova, also from the area around silver city. One other relative that lived in the area was Santa Cruz Ponce with his wife, Elisa Rael.
Is your mother's name Janina or Pablina? My records show that Porfirio and his second wife, Frances Valenzuela, had 13 children, eight of whom survived to be adults. The names and birthdates I have for the survivors are: Apolinaro, 1909, Angela, 1911, Christina, 1912, Pete, 1918, Janina, not certain of date, Gabriel, 1922, Bertha, 1924, and Clara, 1933.
According to my records Porfirio was the eldest of seven children, born from 1870 to 1890, in Chihuahua.
I have attached a copy of Porfirio's baptism record.
