I am currently researching one of my maternal great grandfathers and have hit a dead end and am hoping that someone may be able to shed some light on the matter.
He was licenciado Jesús Acuña. Born in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico on 22 March, 1888 and was killed at Acambaro, Michoacan, Mexico on 3 January, 1932.
He was a close associate of general and later president of Mexico Venustiano Carranza and held the post of Foreign Minister under Carranza during the time of the American expedition into Mexico under Gen. John J. Pershing.
While I have found him mentioned in dozens of period newspapers and books his family history is a complete blank. I have been unable to uncover even the names of his parents. The fact that he was an attorney and received a Jesuit education would lend to believe that he came from a family of some prominence in the Saltillo/Coahuila area of northern Mexico.
Has anyone come across information regarding him?
