My ggm's name I know is Maria Concepcion Marin (Fathers last name) Orosco (mothers last name). She was called Concha for short. Family state that when she was old, she told granddaughter that she thought her family was looking for her in the Distrito Federal Mexico area.
She was about 12-14 years old when her father would go between Spain and Mexico for his work. He had some guards escorting him and his family when they were attacked, some men died and the daughter, my ggm was kidnapped. She was with the man who kidnapped her and he hid out in caves somewhere there. He would move when he figured they might be looking for him. Eventually he had children with Maria although they never married but were considered married by common law in the USA.
She always thought her father would have kept trying to find her, and for all I know he might have stayed in Mexico and died there trying to find her?
His name was something either similar to this or was this name. I know that it is not a complete name since last names of the parents were used in the Spanish language and I do not know them. The name was Loretto Marin, the mother was Maria Felipa Orosco. I know that the Loreto Marin is correct because it was on her cemetery information, but all that was listed for mother was Orosco?
My grandfather was born in 1896 that I can figure out so far, so this happened either shortly before then or a year before.
It is so sad to read this story of her life, it seems like someone would know something in history about this? I know that she never forgot her parents and never forgave the men that did this, including my great grandfather Isidro Rodriguez, as far as I know this is the only name we knew for him.
She was always sad and never much talked about her parents, because she didn't know how to connect with them and I think she might have still been afraid of him.
I will be posting to Spain also, but please help me if you can.
