My grandfather, Felipe Ramirez Morales, was born in Mazatlan, Mexico on 8/31/03 or '04, and came to the US around 1917/18. His parent's names were, I believe, Armando and Josefa but his first U.S. Soc. Sec. app. lists Manuel as his father's name. The DOB was incorrect on this document and 'Papacito' was unschooled so chances are someone else completed that form. His birth certificate was written in a narrative format listing father and all 6(?) siblings but ironically, no mother. Unfortunately, after his death, we could not find this document or the family photos/letters he had saved. He use to say that his uncle had been mayor of Mazatlan and his father referred to the mother's father as the 'frenchman'.
