I am searching for any family in the state of Veracruz, Veracruz who had a daughter/sister by the name of Lucila. She passed away giving birth, from a stroke in July 1973. I believe at the time she was 26 yrs old and married to a man with the last name of Ledesma. Her maiden name was Hererra. I am that daughter and they named me after her. I was told in her family there are doctors, teachers and lawyers. I know this is not enough information, but please anyone who can help I would greatly appreciate any info. Thank you.

he was an undocumented immigrant to the U.S when he met my mother. I was born in the U.S in 1959 in California. my mother had told me that he had another family in mexico but I don't know if I have any other relatives in the U.S other then my sister. I have recently learned that my g-grandfather at age 76 was sent to a concentration camp in Veracruz during WWII because he was an Italian national. He had immigrated from Italy in 1890, arriving in Veracruz and living in Mexico the remainder of his 85 years. I have not been able to find much info on this subject of the treatment of Axis Nationals in Mexico, and in fact, am only guessing that the Prison he was sent to was Perote. I would like to obtain more information on this subject and if you know of any website, books or personal knowlege on this subject please advise.

I am looking for any info on Pedro Veracruz, my great great grandfather or Victoriano Veracruz his father. It is rumored that Pedro and his brother came from the port of Veracruz after one of his brother shot someone, and they fled to San Antonio. It is also believe that Pedro and his brother formed on of the first baseball teams from Mexico, they may have also changed there name to Veracruz. Does anyone have any info about Pedro? All this info was told to me by family memebers. Thanks for any help.

I would be very thankful to anyone who can give me information about any KLOSS who might have migrated between Germany (Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt, Niedersachsen, Hamburg, Berlin or Hessen Federal States) and Mexico or Brazil in 19th or 20th centuries. My family seems to come from those regions.

I have scarce information about some ancestors and I would be very glad to enrich it and/or to pursue the quest starting from what I've got:

- Maximilian Kloss, German-born, who seems to have lived in Brazil and then to have fought in the Mexican Revolution 1910-1920 in artillery under command of Gen. Alvaro Obregon, and to have had some military command responsibilities in the Yucatán and Mexico City, died in the 1920's.

- Ernst Kloss, probably devoted to commerce and/or engineering, possibly oil extraction, and also a gifted watercolor artist, born in Hamburg, son of Otto Kloss, lived in Mexico in the 1920's and 30's, went back to Germany in the late 30's, fought with the 6th German Army in the Caucasus, was made prisoner by the Soviets, reported as disappeared by German officials, released in the 50's by Soviets and died in Kassel in 1966.

- Nana Henriette Bornemann, born in Guadalajara, Mexico, daughter of German parents, who married Ernst Kloss in the 1920's, lived in Mexico and Germany (Magdeburg, Bad Durrenberg) with her husband, had two children: Ernst Heinz, born 1925 in Magdeburg, and Sybille, born 1930's in Mexico.

- As husband Ernst was reported dead in or around Stalingrad, and as son Heinz was also reported disappeared in or around Slovakia, Nana Henriette and Sybille seem to have fled Germany at the end of World War II and relocated in Mexico City, where Henriette died in 1963-64.

This is my husband's paternal grandfather. My suegro tells the story that his father was born in Veracruz to a nun and a preist and was left in the desert to die, but was picked up by two Spanish sisters (not nuns, blood sisters) named Heredia who cared for and raised him. Another variation of this story holds that the baby was actually born to the unmarried daughter of a priest's maid. My suegro's older brother says that neither story is true. In any case, he was apparently adopted by one of the Heredia sisters (possibly named Solidad) but later came to believe that his birth name was actually Flores. Samuel died in Tijuana in 1957, leaving some 16 children behind (second wife's name was Rosa Teresa Escartin).

If anyone has any thoughts or knowlege re any of those mentioned above, I would LOVE to hear it. I am at a loss for ideas right now. Also, if anyone has any ideas about how I could start to verify or discredit this story, please share them. I have not yet obtained the birth certificate of my suegro, who was born in Tijuana. Does anyone have any words of widom for researching Mexican vital records (I hae not been able to uncover anything from the LDS FHC).

I am trying to find information on my grandfather and great-grandfather who lived for awhile in or near Veracruz. My great grandfather was from Oldham (Lancashire, England) and went to Mexico to help in a british cotton factory, probably in the mid 1880's. His name was Henry or Harry Forrester. His wife was Mary (Andrews) Forrester of Scotland. They had five children; Ralph, Charles, Lillian, Jaime and Frank. Ralph was my grandfather and was born in Veracruz on February 27, 1888. For reasons I don't know but assume were related to the tensions of the day, my great-grandfather was killed (stabbed) in Veracruz while out walking with the family around 1890. My grandfather was in a stroller at the time. The family returned to England after that. I presume that my greatgrandfather was buried there and that there would be birth records of my grandfather.

I would appreciate any advice you may have in searching for records of this family.

In addition, I am wondering whether Vera Cruz would have been a place that people went to get away from work and whether it functioned also as a service centre. I have seen that Orizaba (inland from Vera Cruz) was referred to as the Manchester of Mexico so possibly it was there that the family lived but only went to Vera Cruz for the hospital and to be by the sea.

Ships to Vera Cruz early 1900s

Can anyone tell me how to locate what ships sailed to Mexico (specifically to Vera Cruz) in the mid 1920's? Also, how do I locate records of parents who immigrated there from Russia? Per parent's passport stamps, they immigrated to Vera Cruz from Russia in 1926 via a French Line ship. However, am unable to locate any record of any French ships that went to any Mexican port. Orion BEEBE and his wife, Lillian GUSTAFSON were married in Minatitlan in 1925.Orion worked for a subsidiary of Shell Oil Company. Orion arrived in Mexico in 1920 from the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. He and Lillian left there in 1939 and returned to the USA. Did the Beebe's have children? Are there any census records in Mexico between 1920 and 1939? Does anyone recognize this family. Lillian's sister married Abner Lewis. Did they live in Minatitlan as well? Are there marriage records available?

In May of 1871, Joseph Beauchamp was on a steamship to Vera Cruz for his health. He died on May 21 1871. Would there be any records of his buriel? The ship was believed to be the Glasgow from St. Louis Mo via New Orleans to Vera Cruz

Mi padre se llama Jorge Arturo Iduarte, el era de Veracruz, Veracruz pero fallecio el 9 de octubre 1981. Conozco a unos de mis parietnes pero busco mas. La mayoria de la familia que yo sepa se encuentra en el sur de Mexico y alrededor de Veracruz. Mi mama se llama Maria de la Luz Galindo de Iduarte. Ella nacio en Nuevo Laredo, Tampaulipas(creo que el estado es ese) junto con su familia se vinieron a Cd. Acuna, Coah, Mexico para quedarse. Aqui conocio a mi papa y se casaron. Familia Hernandez es parte de la de mi papa al igual que la familia De La Cruz.
