Thank you so much - that is so helpful.
Your second finding is very exciting to me as Elizabeth's mother was a Gallagher (poss Gallacher) - Rose Ann and her father John was indeed from Motherwell.
Now I can go off an hopefully find out what happened to her once she settled in America. I'm fairly sure she got married so I suppose that'll be my next line of searching.
