Hi,
I know that you are looking/have found the info you were looking for in the U.S., but if you want a great website to research further back in Scotland, I highly recommend www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk They don't charge for initial searches, but do if you want to look at the records. I found the price to be very reasonable (especially in comparison with Ireland's site!). They charge about $12 for 30 credits. You can look up about 5 records for this price.
